What is NSSA and who is eligible?
NSSA is the National Server and Storage Agreement, announced by SUPC, and offers all Universities, HE/FE Colleges and affiliated Member Institutions the opportunity to take advantage of a Server and Storage purchasing framework and benefit from competitive pricing.
The Southern Universities Purchasing Consortium (SUPC) is acting as the lead organisation in conjunction with the Universities Colleges and Information Systems Association (UCISA) for its members and also for members of the Higher Education Purchasing Consortium for Wales (HEPCW), London Universities Purchasing Consortium (LUPC), North West Universities Purchasing Consortium (NWUPC), North Eastern Universities Purchasing Group (NEUPG), Proc-SNI (Procurement Scotland &NI) and Research Councils. A full list of all current regional consortia members can be found at http://www.proc-he.ac.uk
The NSSA agreement provides the member institutions with the ability to purchase equipment without going to individual EU tender.
IBM and NSSA
On August 1st 2007 IBM were appointed as a nominated supplier of servers and storage under the terms of the NSSA agreement. IBM is committed to providing the NSSA members with the most competitive pricing available in the education and research sector.
